 India BRAHMOS CRUISE MISSILE

Are the BRAHMOS CRUISE MISSILE really the fastest Cruise missiles in the world ?

A cruise missile is a guided missile. Which moves towards its target at a constant speed. And they have the ability to hit their target very accurately.
Cruise missiles can be of three types.

1 - SUBSONIC CRUISE MISSILE
Its speed is less than the speed of sound.

2 - SUPERSONIC CRUISE MISSILE
The speed of which is higher than the speed of sound, which usually goes up to mach3.

3 - HYPERSONI CRUISE MISSILE
The speed of this missile is five times more than the speed of sound. i-e up to Mach 5. Or even more.

So today we will tell you all about India's Brahmos cruise missile in detail. Which has supersonic speed. And its upcoming next version is going to be hypersonic.
Not only this, BrahMos missile is considered to be the fastest supersonic missile in the world. which are operational.
In February 1998, India and Russia signed an intergovernmental agreement. Under which BrahMos Airspace was to be stabilized in India. So that Brahmos missile can be produced.
BrahMos missile has been designed, developed and produced by BrahMos Aerospace. And BrahMos Aerospace is a joint venture between India's DRDO and Russia's NPO Company.
The company was established on February 12, 1998, with a share capital of US$250 billion.

Let me tell you that BrahMos missile is named after two rivers. Which are India's Baramutra and Russia's Moszkva River.

The first test of this cruise Missile was conducted on 12 June 2001 from the Integrated Test Range Chandipur. After which, in 2004, his second test was from mobile launcher. And in 2005 it was inducted into service.
Then India made several more variants of it, such as Shape Launch, which means it can be launched from Ship as well. It was designed for the Navy. Submarine launch means that it can be launched from a submarine as well. Apart from this, Surface launch and air launch are also included in it.
And recently, India has also successfully tested the BrahMos missile with a range of 450 kilometers from the Sukhoi fighter jet.
